This is the website for the senior-level Journalism Ethics course required of students in the Journalism Minor at the University of San Francisco. We are delighted that non-minors are among us this Fall.
I find this to be an exceptional example of pushing the boundaries of free will... He refuses to succumb to his imprisonment.... but at the cost of pain and his arm. So then is that to say that great freedom does not come without great sacrifice? In that case then was he truly free to choose if the cost was far from free? And yet, his resolve to abandon his arm may require a certain sense of freedom, in itself.
