This is the website for the senior-level Journalism Ethics course required of students in the Journalism Minor at the University of San Francisco. We are delighted that non-minors are among us this Fall.
Important to notice: the cover title, "Queen of Rage." If a picture speaks 1000 words, is a big title necessary too?
I had not paid attention to the headline!I'd say three things: 1) It is provocative, but Newsweek and Time are on the verge of collapse, so provocative may be the price of survival - though is it worth the price? 2) There's a certain ambiguity in the hed. We might read it to mean she's queen *of those who rage* and there's some truth in that; 3) Hed actually doesn't work with the pic, since she looks nutty, not exactly angry, or so I read it.Now, what do you think the bottom line is, the real ethical question? You could argue so much POV is honest???
